Our family favourites

Located just 30km from our property, Giants Castle Reserve offers a variety of walks, hikes, and experiences for the whole family. We recommend the family-friendly walk to the Bushman paintings cave, where you can join educational guided tours on the hour from 9 am. Giants Castle also features amenities such as restaurants, a curio shop, and picnic sites, making it a perfect destination for a day out with loved ones.

Highmoor Reserve boasts several trout dams open to day visitors for a small fee. The reserve offers two main grassland walks, including the Aasvoelkrans cave hike, which leads to a beautiful waterfall and rock pools suitable for swimming. Although more strenuous, Caracal Cave offers magnificent views for those seeking a challenge. Please note that the reserve operates on a cash-only basis.

Known for protecting some of South Africa's best-preserved rock art paintings, Kamberg Reserve offers daily guided tours for visitors. The reserve features stocked trout dams and various grassland walks, making it an excellent destination for outdoor enthusiasts. Our family favourite is the Roman Baths walk, a scenic 11-13km round trip. While the path may not be well-marked, the journey is well worth it for the breathtaking rock pools and cascading falls that await.
Meet your Hosts
We love sharing our self-catering mountain escape with you!

We’re Scott and Emma, your hosts at Kamberg Cottages. Married for 20 years with two fun-loving teenage girls, we share a passion for property, renovations, quality family time, and outdoor adventures.
We finally buckled to the dream of owning a country slice to retreat to with our girls, friends and family. Like most dreams, this didn’t come without hard work, sacrifice, and a huge amount of sweat equity! But it was worth every bit.
Now, we’re Airbnb Superhosts, dedicated to providing you with a memorable and relaxing mountain getaway.
